🔐 Texto de apoio
At least three different theoretical views of language and the nature of language proficiency explicitly or implicitly inform current approaches and methods in language teaching. The first, and the most traditional of the three, is the structural view, according to which language is a system of structurally related elements for the coding of meaning. The target of language learning is seen to be the mastery of elements of this system, which are generally defined in terms of phonological units (e.g. phonemes), grammatical units (e.g. clauses, phrases, sentences), grammatical operations (e.g. adding shifting, joining, or transforming elements), and the lexical items. The second view of language is the functional view, in which language is a vehicle for the expression of functional meaning. The communicative movement in language teaching subscribes to this view of language. This theory emphasizes the semantic and communicative dimension rather than merely the grammatical characteristics of language and leads to a specification and organization of language teaching content by categories of meaning and function rather than by elements of structure and grammar. The third view of language can be called the interactional view. It sees language as a vehicle for the realization of interpersonal relations and for the performance of social transactions between individuals. Language is seen as a tool for the creation and maintenance of social relations. Interactional theories focus on the patterns of moves, acts, negotiation, and interaction found in conversational exchanges.

communicative movement ↓ functional view
Portanto, basta identificar a alternativa que reproduz fielmente essa informação.
(A) ❌
O texto afirma que existem três visões teóricas sobre a linguagem, e não três visões que sustentam a proficiência linguística.
(B) ❌
A visão estrutural valoriza exatamente aspectos gramaticais, fonológicos, sintáticos e lexicais.
(C) ✅
Correta.
O próprio texto declara:
The communicative movement in language teaching subscribes to this view.
O pronome this view retoma a functional view.
(D) ❌
A visão interacional não se restringe à produção de diálogos.
Ela envolve negociação, interação e relações interpessoais em diferentes contextos sociais.
(E) ❌
Em nenhum momento o texto afirma que a visão interacional fundamenta o maior número de métodos ou abordagens.
- O texto apresenta três visões da linguagem.
- O movimento comunicativo adota a visão funcional.
- A alternativa C reproduz literalmente essa informação.
- As demais acrescentam interpretações não presentes no texto.
Chunk family:
- structural view
- functional view
- interactional view
- communicative movement
- language teaching
Gabarito Oficial: C
A questão exige reconhecer a relação entre as diferentes concepções de língua e as abordagens de ensino correspondentes. O foco da banca não está em localizar uma informação isolada, mas em identificar corretamente a associação entre a functional view of language e a Communicative Approach.

text statement → paraphrase → correct answer
O núcleo da questão não está em interpretar conceitos de Linguística Aplicada, mas em verificar qual alternativa reproduz exatamente uma informação apresentada pelo autor.
O segundo parágrafo afirma de forma direta que o Communicative Movement adota a Functional View of Language. A alternativa C apenas reescreve essa informação com outras palavras, preservando integralmente o sentido do texto.
Communicative Movement → Functional View ✔
A armadilha da banca está nas alternativas que parecem plausíveis por utilizarem a terminologia do texto, mas alteram seu conteúdo. Algumas substituem "visões de linguagem" por "proficiência linguística"; outras reduzem a visão interacional à produção de diálogos ou afirmam fatos que nunca foram mencionados pelo autor.
same terminology ≠ same meaning
Em questões desse tipo, a estratégia mais segura é verificar se cada alternativa pode ser confirmada literalmente pelo texto. Quando a banca utiliza uma paráfrase fiel, a resposta correta costuma ser aquela que mantém a mesma relação lógica entre os conceitos apresentados pelo autor.
